It struck me the other day, that some of our medications for Parkinson's have strange names, which don't do us any favours!
Dopamine makes us sound dopey.
Madopar makes us sound mad.
Sinemet makes us sound as though we're sinners.
Elderpryl makes us sound old.
Ropinirole makes us sound ropey.
And if you have Idiopathic Parkinson's, (as I do), it sounds as if you're an idiot!
I'm sure there are others. Why can't we have 'happy' names for our drugs, to cheer us up a bit??
