A message to the drug companies supplying D.A.s

Sorry, misspelled Jambart.

Hello GG et al

This is exactly what I've been talking about. You have taken an article that agrees with your thinking and used it as 'evidence' of the facts. With a few clicks I managed to detect that this article was written by a Daily Mail reporter months ago. I cannot find any result to the court case but I would love to know.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1369506/Man-claims-faulty-drug-turned-gay-sex-addict.html

If you had used this document in a acrimonious discussion you would have had egg on your face.

Also Google the man's name, the whole thing seems to have died a death in March this year. See 'Queerty'

On YOUR side

Chris

This is the purpose of peer review.
Spam, I am finding it very difficult to understand why you dismiss all the evidence that lawyers study the facts surrounding DAs and OCDs and then decide to take drug companies to court.
Do you believe that the judges in other countries have listened to all the evidence and awarded damages on a whim?
We need British firms to follow their lead.
Just one example for you to read up on:
"Jambart's Case Has Precedent
Jambart is not the first Parkinson's patient to sue a drug maker over these symptoms.
In 2008, a district court in Minneapolis awarded Gary Charbonneau $8.2 million in gambling losses and punitive damages in a suit against the makers of Mirapex, Pfizer and Boehringer Ingelheim."
I personally have no problem with your ideas. I AM ON YOUR SIDE!

But, as I keep on saying, you CANNOT expect to achieve the changes, compensation and warnings you want without a much more well researched argument.

This last example of 'evidence' showed how difficult it can be.

Once again GG, I am on your side. I am not trying to say that these problems don't happen, I am trying to get someone, somewhere to set down a set of data that is strong enough to overturn the current NICE guidelines.
Last Thursday Didier Jambart won his case aginst GlaxoSmithKline for the damage including hypersexuality caused by Requip. He was awarded over £100,000 and costs.
This case is a massive step forward in the fight for justice and law firms are reassessing their attidude to taking these cases on now.
The fight continues..
Love to all struggling with the aftermath of these side effects.

This is indeed good news for us. I hope that the references and sources used by the French courts are in the public domain as these can certainly be used to convince a British court of these terrible problems. I don't think a legal precedent set in France is considered a valid precedent here (I'm not a lawyer), but I'm sure the lawyers here will find out what happened in this case and use it to their advantage.

As always I will continue to monitor this thread.

By the way, this didn't happen last Thursday, it was a while ago!

Good luck

Chris

I am assured that lawyers here will use this verdict to move forward.
I think the verdict was appealed against and the final court of appeal verdict came last week but I am not sure.
On with the fight for justice for British victims.

Yet another life ruined thanks to good old Cabergoline. This guy was not only sentenced by the law courts but worse still, by the court of public ignorance! As for the drug company did they support this guy or accept some responsibility, oh no they are now jumping on this as a sales opportunity and now market Cabergoline as a sex and pleasure drug?

Who was it that said the drug companies are run by good people not demons?
