I went to a meeting with my Dad the other day he was diagnosed a couple of months back but has probably had the condition for about eight, the subject of disability came up as a trip on a boat was being offered for people in the group, my Dads reaction (not out loud to the group) was that he was not disabled and it was the same reaction when the subject of a blue badge came up, the word does still seem to make people feel that they would stand out, I have worked with people with disabilities and they have been able to do all that was asked of them but maybe not as fast and certainly with a lot more effort (from them) perhaps its about time the word was changed to "Less abled" ? or am I being soft? I guess there is no right and wrong answere to the question my thoughts are with those that have to consider the question in the first place.
This guy has a good take on "disability"
