A number of you have commented on the difficulties you now have in splitting sinemet tablets following the recent change in shape
One of the reasons for this change, is that it is not recommended that patients split tablets.
This applies to any medication not just Sinemet. Even where the tablet is scored it may not break evenly, bits can fall off etc so you can not guarantee getting a standardised dose each time.
If you do need to split a tablet on a regular basis, it is important that you contact your GP,PDNS or consultant to review your medication.
Sinemet is available in a number of strengths including 12.5/50mg so it should be possible to find a way to avoid doing this
