DBS Surgery

Hi,

I am booked in to have my DBS surgery at the end of August in the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in London.

Has anyone any experience of this hospital? Any advice or tips welcomed!

thanks

Hi Shakey

Can't comment on the National as I had mine carried out at The John Radcliffe in Oxford.  But if it's anything like the JR, it's well worth it.  I haven't actually had mine switched on yet but am already feeling the benefits: no dyskenesias; no "freezing" and I feel ready to take on the world!!  God knows what it's going to be like when it's actually functioning!!

great news gaz ,them feelings of feeling great should wear off as its the swelling of brain from surgery no one knows why this happens sorry to tell you that this is why they give a space on turning dbs on ! but that shows goods signs that it will be very successful

I thought as much!  Thanks Gus

great tho ! i got married two weeks after my opp felt amazing all the best gaz
