Well, I’ve been diagnosed only this year, but I know a few people who have had it for longer than 9 years.
For example, Simon123, on this forum, after 9 years, wrote a book about his life to remind people that he is more than just as PwP. See this threadhttp://forum.parkinsons.org.uk/pdsforum/posts.aspx?forum=creative-corner&topic=parkinsons---an-autobiography
His book is called A Life Worth Living, and if you like the page on Facebook you can contact Simon to get a hard copy, or it can be downloaded onto a Kindle.
From what I have gathered from Simon and his book, Parkinson’s hit him hard, but writing the book has been a very positive step for him. Perhaps you might want to try something like that, not necessarily on such a large scale, but in some form or other.
