I don t know where I found the time, but I did finally, and I entered the Mervyn Peake awards. If you want. to enter, it has to be this month. So what about giving it a go? There is a poetry category, but others as well, like art and photography. If nothing else, I have enjoyed trying.
Now here is why I struggled to find the time!!
I am always waiting, waiting hours on end,
It really is sending me right around the bend.
Time is so very precious and I'm losing it so fast,
For I am always waiting; in a queue I'm always last.
Queues there are for everything, no matter where I go,
The shops, theatre, cinema, for the buses to and fro.
I wait in the waiting room, for doctor, dentist, nurse,
They are running late of course, to.make matters worse.
I wait for the family as they visit, often late
With time ticking by, I am there by the garden gate.
No-one thinks it matters, that I wait and wait,
My precious time not worthy, even of debate.
Meanwhile I wait patiently, until I reach my limit;
And that is when I hear the shout, " I'll only be a minute! "
