Madopar 50 mg dispersible tablets 50 mg 3 as required during the night
I always took my daily Madopar doses on an empty stomach but after reading some other posts it looks like Stalevo is a whole new ball game.
After reading some posts, I think Porridge just before 7am may be the breakfast answer, with the only protein being in the milk. The regime for other meals will require some thought.
i have looked at some of the replies regardinig starting to take Opicapone for the first time. My esperience Was similar to some of you. I started having in voluntary movements and when I reduced my levodopa/coCarol dopa; I got better. However I am still exhausted after two weeks of taking it and feel very tired and unmotivated and cannot complete small tasks and to go back to bed on a regular basis. This does not seem to be the experience of many people. I feel like I have a “fuzzy head” and headaches a lot of the time and cannot fulfil day-to-day activities or go out. I have been isolated in my house for two weeks now. Luckily I got friends who can help me. If anyone else has had This experience please let me know that it does not sound good. sorry re. typos
I have just restarted Opicapone after a 2 year break. Unfortunately the nausea has always been the most debilitating side effect for me but, this time round, I am taking Gaviscon Advanced for acid reflux (caused by a diagnosed Hiatus Hernia )and , generally, this helps massively . My main issue now is the insomnia it seems to be causing ( awake 2 to 3 hours every night) and heightened emotions , but that could be purely due to tiredness. So frustrating
What medication were you on during your 2 year break from ‘Opicapone’ and what prompted you to go back on it?
It was working well for me until the constant nausea appeared, and if I had a remedy for that, I would definitely try it again.
I take ‘omeprazole’ for acid reflux so perhaps that’s why ‘Gaviscon’ didn’t enter into the conversation with medical staff when I was prescribed Stalevo instead of ‘Opicapone’.
Stalevo works reasonably well for me, but not as good as the ‘Opicapone’ which came in capsule form and was much easier to swallow than a ‘Stalevo’ pill.
