While I would not consider it amusing I do think it’s a suitable topic, dementia is a very taboo subject in most social settings, even more so on a forum such as this where people with a progressive neurological illness come for advice and information.
We all know that in the world of Parkinson’s the risk of dementia is more likely than in the non Parkinson’s sufferer, many will have cognitive difficulties related to Parkinson’s that are not fully seen as dementia, but where dose cognitive decline become dementia?
I myself was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 3years ago and that was changed to Lewy body dementia with parkinisems a year later, I would welcome seeing a relaxed thread talking about the whole cognitive difficulties dementia side of our illness, Parkinson’s dementia and Lewy body dementia are the same thing just diagnosed at different stages, and both are Parkinson’s disease .
Live well. Cc
