To continue the REMEMBER theme....(from Sep.)
I remember skipping, up the garden path
And running home from school, ready for a bath.
Sometimes I'd play football, in the local park
Or hop and skip and jump, happy as a lark.
I remember cycling, down the country roads,
Racing with my brother, which amused us loads,
Paddling at the seaside, during summer hols,
Scrambling over rocks, hoping none of us falls.
I remember winters, ploughing through the snow
In our welly boots, with marks left as we go.
Then we'd build a snowman, carrot for a nose,
Pipe in mouth, hat on head, dressed where'er he goes.
I remember freedom,in these days long gone,
Speeding off wherever, no time a coat to don.
Such memories I have, all so very good
Of a very happy, and healthy, childhood.
