Update on Forum Change - PLEASE READ

I think most of us have given up - Wot’s a Bot??

I had to laugh, I’m with you wholeheartedly. Navigating your way around a forum, website etc is so problematic, so very, very difficult. I don’t think the way youngsters do, or whoever designs these forums, websites.

I worked as a teacher for over 40 years and when the school’s intranet was changed I couldn’t find the start button. There wasn’t one, you had to click on the logo! I associate a logo with advertising, not with starting and using a computer. So many ways of navigating around a platform is counterintuitive to me. If the arrow points to the right, I assume it should take you forward, not back in time. I think a major aspect of the problem oldies have we were born before tech. we like rules, instructions and aren’t comfortable with trial and error. Certainly I’m not. Too risky.

I don’t do social media and don’t have a computer whizz kid at my elbow. 2018 you first wrote about how difficult it is to navigate the new forum. Well, snap. I can’t work it out. Having to fit into a box I also find difficult. Since when were humans standardized?

If you want t write something lrask a question on this forum, I think you can but it must fit into a category, yet there are no choices. So how do you know what category to write - since you cannot choose one. I tried different headings and some appeared in a box with a link to someone who had written about it in April 2012. How can that be relevant in 2025. Advances in research have been pretty fast since then. I don’t have the time to read stuff so out of date.

So please could someone tell the Bot to write some simple step by step instructions on how a sensible oldie can post a question, some information etc. Can she write what she wants to write please?
