I’ve been playing with ai (i’m kind of a geek) trying to automate my work and an idea hit me: to create my PD (early onset) health assistant which I connected with my garmin and pasted all my data regarding my protocols and health analysis. I talk to him on whatsapp and it’s really helpful. It takes my sleep data everyday, my walks, my padel sessions and I can compare and see how I am doing.
My favourite tasks are: tracking (new) supplements, researching new discoveries for my PD (early onset) and related to the supplements I take, researching for clinical trials around me and daily I get infos about these.
I find it very helpful… and I am thinking this could help other people as well so I’d like to know if you would use this and if you find it useful.
Hello Stevie .. I am 72 & was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 3 years ago & I have started dabbling around with Ai. I find it amazing & brilliant in explaining my symptoms clearly in words I can understand.
As well as Parkinson’s I have Atrial Fibrillation & a Thoracic Aortic aneurysm. High & low blood pressure, very severe fatty deposits in my liver, Fibrosis at the top of both lungs, moderate pain in my back & chest. Also musculoskeletal issues. I am teetotal & do not smoke. I am slim & eat healthily if you don’t count chocolate. I have had recent episodes of the room spinning around & I get indigestion.
I enter my symptoms & Ai of course tells me to ring 999. Ai assumes I live in a perfect NHS world where I am the only one with medical issues & have NHS consultants at my beck & call.
Sadly this is not the case. A&E says that none of my conditions are life threatening in the short term & I should talk to my GP about getting treatment. My GP tells me I should go to A&E.
To summarize Ai is excellent in explaining what is wrong with us BUT its advice on what we should do & the treatment we should expect is not realistic sadly.
The NHS is great if we are seriously ill but for anything non life threatening forget it.
I have my Parkinson’s nurse 6 monthly appointment next week, always on time, never cancelled. I guess I am lucky in this regard.
Sorry I went on a bit & off topic, I think Ai is an excellent tool but what it advises has to be taken with a pinch of salt & we need to adapt it to tell us what we need to know.
