Hi my name is Maria and my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s four years ago ( he had taken early retirement package from work and was unable to focus on taking on other employment) then two years ago was diagnosed with onset Parkinson dementia. Up until 1year ago he was still managing to do a spin class once a week and walk three miles each day. Then when that stopped he went to physio classes referred by the Parkinson nurse once a week and still managed a walk twice a week .Six months ago all that stopped .His medication was increased and he is now on a higher rivastegman patch for his memory too. Recently he had a 72hr sickness virus and was unable to keep anything down including his Parkinson medication. I was wondering if anyone could advice me what you do if this happens again ( at the time I couldn’t get hold of Parkinson nurse to get advice) It took my husband a few days after the virus had cleared to stabilise his meds again. I have not managed to get clear guidance on what I should do if it happens again.Has anyone else experienced being sick and bringing up your medication?
