Hi, I’m 56 years old and have been working for 40 years in mostly physical work as is my current job.
I think about a year or so ago i noticed a slight tremor whilst resting after work, before that for several years having back, neck and hip pain.
Around 4 months ago i was rushed into hospital with a gallbladder infection and stone, i was in a bit of a state, awaiting the op still with a drain bag fitted.
After that i started to have quite significant tremors in my left hand and arm, walking slowed right down( had been shuffling more for a while).
I went to the doctor who suspected parkinson’s. Over the next few weeks the tremors rapidly progressed and my neck/head began to tremor my mid section and started to go slightly to my right arm.
My Doctor prescribed a low dose of sinemet and pushed for a quicker neuro referral as i was in a mess and needed a stick as i was also dizzy.
I saw the neurologist who said i had probable idiopathic parkinsons and prescribed sinemet plus, he also wants to check my neck and spine as i do have slight damage, my doctor also had arranged a brain MRI for the neurologist to see which was ok.
I want to go back to work after the gallbladder op but in all honesty i dont think it will work out but I’ll do my very best.
I haven’t a clue what happens next, ive been referred to the parkinson’s nurses and now waiting. I go for a walk most days, the sinemet plus has improved my situation but i do get very tired days, sleep isn’t great either…my wife is great,we have two kids and 4 grandsons.

Thankyou so much

Hi, when i saw the neurologist he asked if there was any history of parkinson’s within my family, i replied no.
However today i found out that my uncle who passed earlier this year, amongst other things had parkinsons.
Can i ask if this will change things regarding my probable idiopathic parkinson’s diagnosis?
Much thanks
