Hi, I was hoping for some advice to help my mum. Her Parkinson’s symptoms have accelerated rapidly over the last 2 years and the biggest problem she has now is with her neck and head which she can barely lift up at all.
I have found her an excellent physio thst specialises in illnesses such as Parkinson’s, but my mum is very depressed I believe at the moment and is struggling with the motivation to do all the excercises etc
I was wondering if there were any gadgets or tips that anyone has had any luck with to help alleviate her suffering with it even a little bit?
I’m really sorry to hear that your mum’s symptoms have worsened over the last 2 years; I can imagine how hard this has been for her.
It’s great that you’ve found her a physiontherapist and I hope she will soon start to see the benefit of having one. Whilst your mum’s lack of motivation is understandable, we have some great advice from a specialist physiotherapist about how people with Parkinson’s can motivate themselves to do exercise which would be benefitial to your mum. You can find this information here.
We also have a Parkinson’s UK shop which sells useful gadgets that may be of interest to you. Lastly, if you need further support on this, please give our helpline service a call on 0808 800 0303 and one of our lovely advisers would be happy to help you.
