Aggression

My husband has recently become very critical of my caring skills and verbally aggressive especially in the evening Although I may not be a perfect nurse(!) I do my best, have taken over all household chores and am basically a full time cater. The criticism is usually over something trivial but he can become very angry and say hurtful things which I can’t help but take personally. He is very depressed, also suffers from bipolar disorder and is quite against doing exercises or any other activity I suggest that might help him feel better. I feel his condition is deteriorating and am scared he may be developing dementia. Has anybody else witnessed these symptoms in their partner? I just want to know how to react to this change of behaviour and get help. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Good morning, How are you doing and what support do you have…and I mean support for you as a carer? What you do is amazing and you deserve to be supported too!
Simon

I believe a percentage of pwp can develop depression I wonder if the PD nurse could assess his condition and advise. I believe they can treat PD depression.
