Hi, I actually joined back in March and did my introductions and then life got in the way. My husband was diagnosed in February this year and at that time his symptoms were mainly physical ie:- trembling hands, slow shuffling walk etc. He remained like this until about the beginning of May and thats when he had his first hallucination. We weren’t too concerned at first as they came and went maybe once or twice a week but they’ve stepped up a big gear in the past two/three weeks and Im just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. He’s getting the same one constantly, workmen at the top of our garden with diggers. He watches them throughout the day and he woke me up at 6.30am Saturday to say they were knocking on the door to let us know they were away to start again. Today he asked if our house was payed off because he didn’t want them to take that from us like they’ve done with the garden. I just wondered if it was normal for hallucinations to last as long as this as a single topic? Has anyone else experienced this? Apologies for the long ramble and hoping someone can relate, L
Hi Lola,
Yes, PD can absolutely be a cause of hallucinations.
In certain cases the person can even hear, touch, see or smell something that doesn’t exist.
It is as a result of chemical reactions in your body which could causes changes in the brain.
There are of course other conditions that may be causing it.
Please see a neuro and let him test for schizophrenia as well.
