Any good news for people with Lewey Body Dementia?

Hi

I have a friend who has had this disease now about 5 years.I seems to be advancing quit abit and wondered if there were any breakthrough on this disease..he is in a nursing home already.and on a feeding tube.

I John, 

My consultant has informed me that currently there is still no cure for Lewy bodies dementia.  I was diagnosed last April. 

I hope your friend is being looked after well, it's not an easy thing to live with or care for.

There's been some good results with a chemotherapy drug but it was a small trial and the drug is very expensive, so any treatment is still a long way of, diagnosed a year ago myself
