I’m about to start using the Apomorphine pump as, even though I’m only taking 3x50mg daily of co beneldopa, I suffer quite badly from dyskinesia. Being an active person I’m worried that the pump will get in the way whilst exercising, swimming etc and wondering whether this is the right treatment for me. I would be very grateful for any experience using this infusion therapy. Thank you
Hi @Nici, thank you for reaching out to the group. Hopefully, people will share their experiences of infusion with you.

Hello @Nici the pump can not be used while swimming , bathing or showering. The small pipe around 60 cm long , which connects pump to injection site can sometimes be a pain to hide , we did find that you can also order a 90 cmm pipe .
We had some small bags made up for the pump with shoulder straps. Don’t get the liquid on anything.. it stains. Green.
And yes it can sometimes be a pain warning it … It’s not big it’s more annoying trying to find the right place for it .
Hi. I’m having a similar dilemma. I was offered the new style sub dermal produadopa pump. I will have to place a needle under my skin every 3 days, change batteries daily and load the medication
I’m not sure which is worse, side effects of co-careldopa etc or managing this pump
Cheers

Yeah, Produadopa is considered a new form of treatment and as such, no one knows how long a Victim, I mean person will benefit from it. It just seems like one more step towards losing my freedom. But the humour won’t stop ![]()
