Bed Wetting

Hello can anyone tell me if bed wetting is a Parkinsons Symptom ? This is suddenly happening to my husband and it’s distressing him.

Hi Plus1,

I’m sorry to hear that your husband is dealing with this issue at the moment. While I’m sure that other forum members will have experiences and advice they can share with you, I also wanted to pop by and let you know that we have some information on sleep problems on our page here: https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/bladder-and-bowel-problems.

If you would also like to have a chat with a specialist about what’s happening, our Helpline is available from Monday-Friday: 9am-7pm, Saturday: 10am-2pm on 0808 800 0303.

I hope this is helpful for you, best wishes to both you and your husband.

Hi Angela sorry to hear that - it’s worse for my husband at night too. Take Care

Hi, I was prescribed impirimine by my neuro but that hasn’t worked, the continence people told me to practice my pelvic floor and if that’s not improved in 6 weeks to contact them again, I guess another that’s another 42 nights of night time incontinence to go through ??? May I ask what they’ve said to your husband?? Xxx

Angela - Will let you know as we see his Parkinson’s nurse team in July.

My boyfriend had it - worse at night, so he was getting up many times, then generally worse PD in the day due to lack of sleep. Parkinson’s nurse got him prescribed something by GP, sorry I don’t know what it’s called. He was having other changes so actual prescribing took a while, but then it worked straight away. Goid luck x
