Hello Shirleymay
It really depends what you are looking for in a bed - and I assume you are talking some kind of adjustable bed rather than just a standard one. If this is the case I would strongly recommend you visit a showroom where you can see and try out various beds or alternatively most reputable companies offer home assessments and can bring a bed for you to try -when I bought mine the company bought a fully working bed that was smalled than the real one and it fitted comfortably on my living room floor’ Before you do that I think it is wise to consider why you are looking for a bed and what the issues are because there is several different types incl
- Beds that not only raise the head and feet but can also include adjusting the head and feet together or separately, raising and lowering the bed, tilting it at an angle backwards (a bit like a dentist’s chair) or forwards
- Beds that have a massage facility
- Beds that turn and bring you to a sitting position
- Beds that turn and can bring you to your feet
- Beds that can go down low to the floor
Also are you looking for a single or double and if a double can each side be adjusted independently or as one unit.
It is worth noting that adjustable beds are usually about 6” longer than standard beds to allow for the mechanisms to work (ie 6’6”)
You don’t say why you are looking for a bed but it might be an issue that can be solved with some simple equipment that can be used with your current bed - which is obviously a much more cost effective option.
I’m sorry I can’t actually recommend a bed which is probably what you were hoping for because as you can see, it depends on why the bed is needed. However I hope this will help you consider what you need in a bed which should give some focus to your search.
Good Luck
