Best Hip Surgery Recovery Equipment for Home

I’m looking for the best hip surgery recovery equipment that can make everyday activities easier and more comfortable during recovery. There seem to be a lot of options available, but I’d rather focus on a few genuinely useful items instead of buying equipment that may barely get used.Right now, I’m considering things like a hip recovery kit with a reacher, sock aid, dressing stick, and long-handled shoehorn. I’m also looking at raised toilet seats, shower chairs, grab bars, bed rails, and supportive cushions. Ease of use, stability, comfort, and practicality around the home are the main things I’m interested in.[PELEGON Hip Kit - Hip Kit Post Surgery - Hip]

For anyone who has helped someone through hip surgery recovery or used this type of equipment personally, which items actually proved useful day to day? Was there anything you bought but rarely used?I’d especially appreciate recommendations for hip surgery recovery equipment that helps with getting dressed, bathing, using the bathroom, getting in and out of bed, or picking things up withoutunnecessary bending. Any practical or product would be really helpful.

Hi, will you not see a physio or occupational therapist prior to admission.? I used to work as an OT on orthopaedics many years ago, protocols do change over the years and between districts.

I think possibly your chair and bed heights are most important to ensure that when sitting your knees never come higher than your hip, particularly in the first three months, keeping a good sitting position will help to keep your new hip in position while the muscle around repairs and keeps it the best position. Long handled shoe horn, sock aid and a helping hand plus raised toilet seat always required. Hope this helps
