Best Recumbent Exercise Bike for Home – Looking for Real Experiences

Hello everyone,

I am trying to stay more active at home and have been looking into getting a recumbent exercise bike. Low impact exercise seems like a good option, especially on days when balance or stiffness makes other forms of exercise more difficult.

After doing some research, these two models seem to be mentioned quite often:

  • Schwinn 290 Recumbent Bike

  • NordicTrack Recumbent Exercise Bike

I am not trying to promote either of them—I genuinely want to hear from people who have used a recumbent bike, particularly if you’re living with Parkinson’s or caring for someone who is.

The things that matter most to me are;

  • A comfortable seat for longer sessions

  • Easy and safe to get on and off

  • Smooth, quiet pedalling

  • Stable and sturdy frame

  • Simple controls that are easy to use

  • Long term reliability

If you’ve used either of these bikes, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Did it help you stay active? Was it comfortable to use regularly? Were there any drawbacks you wish you’d known before buying?

If there’s another recumbent exercise bike that you’ve found better, I’d be grateful for your recommendation as well.

Thank you in advance for any advice or experiences you’re willing to share.
