Buying a mobility scooter

Hi. My husband has Parkinson’s and has recently started to fall over a lot. I want him to have a mobility scooter but am unsure how to go about buying one safely. I have a budget of about £500 but not sure where to start. Does anyone know of a safe place to buy used mobility scooters ? Any tips appreciated
