Would any other Parkinson sufferer who has a canalboat/river cruiser? please could you pass on any information about owning and running a boat. I diagnosed with PD about 4 months ago but apparently I have had it for 4 years. Would you think it is possible for me to operate a canal boat.
My symptoms are freezing when walking, extreme sluggishness with my movements but the medication does help.
I had a canal boat some years ago and am looking to go boating again. I am surprised you are freezing if you are so recently diagnosed. I suppose you need to look at worse case scenario and plan accordingly. Would you be able to cope if you froze whilst going through a lock? Perhaps not. Provided you always had someone with you however then you should be ok assuming that person is in good health.
