Care

Is there anybody on here who thinks the same as me? That consultants can’t really be bothered to get to no how your condition affects you, 7 years I’ve been diagnosed, and I am on apomorphine now and feel like I have no energy I have kept explaining this to my nurse but can’t get a straight answer so I phoned my consultant( the one I see when he can be bothered) and 6 weeks later still no reply. Make me feel like just coming off it

Hi @Ken2468,

I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t had a positive experience with your consultants as yet, however, I wouldn’t advise that you come off your medication without speaking to your GP or Parkinson’s specialist first. Have you tried our local adviser search tool on our website? Our UK-wide network of friendly Parkinson’s local advisers is here for you, they have a wide range of knowledge and expertise about Parkinson’s, and know about services available in your area. You can find the search tool here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/helpline-and-local-advisers

Additionally, you can also give our helpline a call and speak to one of advisers - they’d be able to offer you more information and support on this. Please give us a call for free on 0808 800 0303 and they can also arrange for a Parkinson’s nurse to call you within 24 hours.

Best wishes,
Reah
