Hi, does anyone know if you need to do anything to apply for the carers allowance, other than fill in the form obviously? I mean, do you have to register as a carer or anything first?
My other half has just finished her job and we would like her to become my carer as it’s not getting any easier (a trip to A&E last month, with a nurse telling me I was in denial concentrated the mind somewhat!)
Just a bit of background, we’re both coming up to 63 and I’ve effectively retired, cashing in a couple of private pensions that should take us up to state retirement age, but it’s going to be tight!
