Carers notes

Hi not sure if this is in the right place.

We are having some ongoing problems with the standard of care mum receives in extra care housing scheme. We can see various things that have been going on, such as a carer finding mum on the floor, phoning my sister to go and help (long story) then leaving mum on the floor and going to carry on with the rest of her calls, leaving mum alone until sister arrives. We are concerned because of our ongoing complaint that they might remove the care notes on a regular basis to prevent us reading them (we find care notes useful for other things like knowing what mum has had to eat etc) What are our "rights" to read the care notes ( I realise they are classed as a legal document but who can access them)

Many thanks for any help

Report this to adult services/social services your mum is vulnerable and if you found out that your mum was left on the floor this is unacceptable behaviour, this may be deemed physical or emotional abuse and should be investigated by an outside agency. The question is , is she safe? please contact adult care services to discuss this they may have received other complaints about incidents in that setting.

Take care
