Cbt

My husband takes Sinemet and recently added Entacapone to prolong the effectiveness. However he is experiencing bad panic attacks /anxiety which come on randomly. We are looking for him to have 1:1 CBT as things are getting a bit desperate. NHS has a long waiting list so will have to self fund. Have many of you found this to be effective please?

Sorry for the late response but havent logged in for months. I have had anxiety issues for decades and have recently completed a CBT course of sessions. I had to wait over a year for it though. CBT seeks to identify negative thought processes, dissecting them and encouraging more positive ways of thinking about or reacting to certain situations.

CBT is especially helpful in situations where anxiety is often triggered my negative thoughts and reactions to certain situations by encouraging more positive ways of thinking and reacting. Where negative thinking is a significant factor cbt can be a great help. Where there is no obvious negative thinking to be addressed because the anxiety is more deep seated or free floating, cbt might be of less help, but is still definitely worth trying.
