Chasing a 20-year dream with Parkinson’s — and finally finishing it

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share something positive from my journey with Parkinson’s.

When I could no longer work, I decided it was finally time to chase a dream I’d carried inside me for over 20 years: to write a book. It wasn’t easy — tremors, fatigue and brain fog often made even short writing sessions a challenge — but bit by bit, I found a way through.

Earlier this year I published my first book, The Good God Guide. I wrote the whole thing on my Android phone, with a little help from ChatGPT when my symptoms made it hard to get words down. For me, it wasn’t just about the book itself, but proving that Parkinson’s may slow me down, but it doesn’t silence me.

I’m a private person, but I wanted to post this because I hope it encourages others here: whatever your dream is, big or small, it’s still possible to go after it.

Warm wishes,
David

Hi, @David_James. A warm welcome to the forum, and thank you for sharing your story.

What an incredible achievement! Publishing a book is no small feat, especially whilst navigating the challenges of Parkinson’s. Your journey shows that even when Parkinson’s slows us down, our creativity and determination can still shine through.

Congratulations! :blue_heart:
