Since told in Jan I have IP, I’ve been on Madopar 12.5mg+50mg stepping up to 2 pills 4 x a day. Now I’ve gone to 100mg/25mg 1 pill 4 x a day, this I understand, what’s different is the earlier pills said take 30 mins before food or 1 hour after food and the new pills says 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food.

Hi, as Ben mentioned, your parkinson’s nurse is the ultimate authority but the sticky labels on both of my 50mg and 100mg Madopar tablet boxes (put on by the pharmacy to indicate timings) all state 30 mins before meals or 60 mins after.
The printed leaflet that is inside the boxes is universal for 50mg; 100mg and 200mg tablets and also states 30 mins before or 60 mins after food.
Just wondering where you got the 1hr & 2 hr information from?
The 1hr & 2hr is on the sticky label on the box of 100mg I picked up yesterday.
AFAIK the information on the sticky label comes from the prescription so perhaps you could check the timings with whoever issued it….the extra time is not a problem, but just makes life a bit more awkward which is the last thing we want!!
I spoke to GP or told me to speak to pharmacist and the pharmacist told me to speak to GP. So rang the Parkinson’s helpline an one of the nice ladies just called back and explained as long as at least 30 mins before and at least 1 hr after food up to the 2hr after food all good
