Constant headaches

Has anyone had their medication changed from caraldopa to something else due to constant headaches. If so what was it changed to and did it work. I have been suffering for weeks now with no let up.

Hi there, @Dave3. That sounds really difficult, especially when it’s been going on for a while. Headaches can sometimes be linked to Parkinson’s medication like co-careldopa for some people, but it’s important to get this checked so the cause can be properly looked into.

Some people do have their medication adjusted or changed if side effects are ongoing, but that should always be done with a specialist or Parkinson’s nurse so it’s done safely.

You might find this page helpful as it looks at pain (including headaches) and possible causes.

It would be really worth speaking to your GP, neurologist or Parkinson’s nurse about this, especially as it’s persistent, as they may be able to review your medication or suggest alternatives.

Please know that you can also call our free helpline for support and advice: 0808 800 0303. Our trained experts and specialist nurses are on hand anytime between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am and 1pm on Saturdays (Our helpline is closed on Sundays and bank holidays).

Hopefully others here can share their experiences too.

Take care :blue_heart:
