hi im new on hear but wondering if anyone knows what my diagnosis could be i had a mri done a few months back and it came back saying i had a t2subtle hypertensisity on the left putamen on fri i had to have a dactscan as apparently the mri resuts can alao be seen in people with parkinsonian syndromes
Hi Jason, I assume you’ve got Parkinsonism symptoms as well. The MRI result is not definitive. A DAT scan looks at the dopamine producing cells in your brain and can tell if these are reduced. If they are reduced then you have parkinsonism due to damage in the brain. There are a number of causes for this of which Parkinson’s disease is one. I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait to see what the scan shows.
