My husband and I went to Australia 2 years ago, Medicare is great you just go and sign up and you only pay a minimal charge on any consultation, I know because my husband had a fall and needed dressings each week.
Our Insurance was covered by our Bank account, and just needed topping up with the information on my husbands condition.

i had dbs at frenchay hospital in bristol they reckon about £50.000 so i would think about £35.000 hope this helps.does not work for everyone .you have to go through tough assessment.
