Dizzy, sick and wiped out

Does anyone with PD suffer dizzy spells when the room appears to be spinning - can go on for an hour or two. Also sick and feels wiped out. This is happening to my husband more frequently.

Hi Franh I sometimes get the feeling of being drunk, I sit and wonder if I have drank 10 G n Ts it is just like that though,
The only time that I had the same symptoms as your husband is when I had virtigo so speak to you GP/or Nurse or you PD nurse it might be is meds or it could be something else.

Thank you. The symptoms he has suggest vertigo as he certainly hasn’t been drinking. Contacting nurses is a nightmare, off sick or on holiday. Will contact our GP, probably won’t have much luck their either.

HI FRANH
all you can do is try and I know what you mean about seeing a GP. Just don’t give up I know it’s fustration but keep going there is sunshine somewhere.

WHAT PARKINSONS MEDICATION IS HE ON? LOOK AT THE PATIENT LEAFLET FOR KNOWN SIDE EFFECTS?[quote=“FRANH, post:3, topic:35863, full:true”]

Medication is Madopar 100mg/25mg 4 times - 8am - 12noon - 4pm - 8pm.
Have been to GP and he has diagnosed labyrinthitis (vertigo). Not related to medication. Resolved, hopefully by eardrops.

Hi FRANH,
This may sound crazy, but try it.

“Balance problems can make you feel dizzy, as if the room is spinning, unsteady, or lightheaded. You might feel as if the room is spinning or you’re going to fall down. These feelings can happen whether you’re lying down, sitting or standing.
Many medical conditions can cause balance problems. However, most balance problems result from issues in your balance organ in the inner ear (vestibular system)”

The tiny hairs in the ear become ‘entangled’ at times, and can cause this.
I had the exact same symptoms and mentioned this to my neuro and said why didn’t he tell me PD could cause this.
He looked at me as if I wasn’t nuts and told me to lie down on the couch. He took my head in his hands and shook it from side to side a few times.
I then stood up and after about 20 seconds or so, he told me to walk and say what I felt.
I was actually fine. The feeling of dizzynes was sorted.
Of course there are a myriad reasons of what causes the feeling, however it cannot harm to try this method.
Obviously it may take 2-3 tries.
