Yes sorry to say Sheila but you do have a long wait in front of you.
The DWP had my written form on the 15th Jan I had my assessment with Capita on the 7th April, They received all the reports back from Capita on the 24th April.
Now they say they come to a decision within 3 weeks of receiving the report and here we are almost at the end of May and I still not had a decision.
Sorry to hear that you are unwell at the moment Shelly, try to get as much rest as you can, I appreciate you want to make sure you`re mum is ok, But you have to look after yourself as well.
My daughter has been unwell recently and I have been looking after my three grandchildren a lot. It does take it out of me so I do sympathise with you Shelly.
I would like to echo what Paul has said I hope everyone has a good day today.
How did you get on with the dishwasher Shelly? lets hope for reasonable weather its June tomorrow its only 3 weeks off the longest day and no real summer yey.
sent you a PM Shelly..........................Paul
Sorry to bring the dreaded P word back up, But there is still no decision on my claim. Thats 6 whole weeks my reports have been back from Capita
I was told I was down for a call back from the case manager as I had requested? I had not even asked for this and then she asked me if I had received the call back. No I said I hadnt even asked for one.
Then she said well I see that twice you have requested a call back? Have you had it? No I said I havent asked for call backs and I havent received any call backs!!
Then she babbled on about how Capita and Atos had decided to send all their reports back at the same time so the case managers were bogged down. I said well they have had mine for 6 weeks now!
It really fills you with confidence dosent it, They dont know what the hell they are doing.
All I want is to know yes or no, The money well they can sort that out whenever its the not knowing that is doing my head in.
But what hope have I got if they dont know what they are doing If I do get a call back maybe I can get some sense out of them even though I didnt even ask for it.
Well next week maybe my week, As ever will let you know of any develpoments or not as I suspect.
Well i am feeling quite proud of myself the dishwasher is in working and no leaks ,i think i will give myself a well earned pat on the back who needs a man lol
I have answered your pm Paul
Candy , i know how frustrating it is just waiting for the yes or no , but i have read that dwp have a back log of cases to deal i really hope that you get it sorted soon
Well done on the dishwasher its not as hard sometimes its good to have a go yourself I recently got a new washing machine the one I got rid of was 20 years old any older and it would have needed a key to wind it up lol. Of course new washing machines now are only cold fill so i went on ebay and got a copper blank off nut for the hot just to be sure in case someone turned the little red handle and water went every were I got a little bit of personal satisfaction because I did it myself. But your job sounded bigger shelly pm sent Good luck for next week Candy were all rooting for you..............Paul
Thank you Paul , yes i already have a washing machine on the cold fill so i needed to fit a adapter that i could run my washer and dishwasher from cold so was a little dubious i kept a emergency plumber number just in case but as it turns out everything is ok and working
I don't have Parkinsons but if I went down on the floor to fit a dishwasher then I couldn't even get up. I recently fitted a new toilet seat and that did me in, even with little bending. I can hardly unload the blooming dishwasher with my hips and knees being so painful.
My claim for PIP is well overdue I think as is my OH's. We have had to have carers in over the last few weeks for my OH due to a deterioration; after 16 years I suppose it's only to be expected. So lower DLA upped to PIP will, I hope, be plain sailing with all our problems.
Trust me Benji i am suffering now for it , my aches and pains have aches and pains but it is my stubborn streak that refuses to let pd rule my life
I was only diagnosed with pd last year but have probably had it for about 4 or 5 years
Good luck with the PIP claim , , at the the moment they are taking a very long time to sort mine took about 32 weeks Candys and Pauls took a long time to i know Candy is still waiting for her decision
Sounds like you know what your doing Shelly. Have you got an Emergency phone number for Shellys plumbing services ltd lol.I would say the call out would be quite high for a trip to Merseyside Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.............Paul
Friends get free call outs lol..... no i did not really know what i was doing but i went to screw fix for the parts fluttered my eyelashes at the man serving me told him i was attempting it myself so he very kindly explained in a blonde proof way how i did it
found this document on the internet probaly the one to read most important
one to read pay particular attention to section 2.5 10 were it says people with severe neurological conditions such as PD should not have to go for a face to face interview...............hello I give up proof they dont know what there doing everyone on this thread has had to go assessment no wonder it takes so long there not following there own procedures
Very interesting reading Paul , the question is why are we being subjected to these face to face assessments so maybe any future claims will be paper based and when it is time for our awards to be reviewed they will be paper based
Just goes to prove dwp are in fact a law unto themselves
Well done on fitting the dishwasher Shelly, A great achievement, I will let you know when I get one and then you can come and fit mine lol.
You have answered a question that I was going to ask you Shelly, How long did yours take, On an earlier message I see it was 32 weeks, So really I havent been waiting that long Lol.
That is very interesting Paul that people with neurological conditions should not have a face to face assessment.
I agree with Shelly maybe when the reviews are due they will of phased that undignified process out.
It is time i think that they reviewed their policies anyway, If some conditions could be paper based it would cut down the waiting times and it would cut down their workload.
Another week, Maybe this is my week, Heres hoping folks.
Just a thought but maybe they have bought in these changes to try cut down the delays , because so many people are having to have face to face consultations it is causing major delays , it makes sense to have a list of medical conditions that could be decided on paper based and medical evidence , yes i appreciate the old system just went on what was said on the claim form but pd is one of those conditions you cant nor would you want to make up ,
I made my initial claim on the phone on 4th Sept 2013 i had my home assessment on 6th March 2014 that was a huge part of the delay i had to wait 6 months for a appointment , my digital report was back at dwp on 13th March and the paper copy was there on the 18th March a decision was made on the 25th March but that could have been made so quick because the journalist called dwp and capita on the morning of the 25th for there comments before the story went to print the next day my adding up was a bit off so it took 29 weeks all in
What an achievement Shelly fitting your dishwasher, good for you! It reminds me of the time when I caught the indicator light on the side of the car (they used to protrude from the side of the front wing), it ended up hanging down the front wing with all wires showing, didn't want hubby to find out so I went to garage spare parts got new one, but didn't know it would come with about 2ft of wire with it, had to have the bonnet up, was covered in grease, threaded it through the hole, then had to connect it to something else, phew! finally did it before hubby came home and he's still none the wiser.Victory for women!
Sorry to hear your mum is ill Sheffy , nothing to serious i hope ? my mum is much better now she was allowed home on Wednesday , although it seems one thing after another i took her home and was checking through her pills she has them in a blister pack so it is easier for her to take , i just could not believe what i was seeing , these blister packs are supposed to be put together by trained pharmacists in amongst my mothers other pills were her parkinsons meds , she is supposed to take 125mg Sinemet at 8am , 1pm ,5pm and a 125mg mr at 10pm there was no tablet in at 5pm they had put the 125mg and the 125mg mr in together at 10 pm my mother non the wiser has been taking her meds without question no wonder the light switches have been moving round the wall ...i just cannot believe the incompetence of people , she has a appointment with her geriatrician in a couple of weeks i will take her and again make another complaint all i seem to do lately is complain
The dishwasher was easy , i am not married i gave my husband a divorce for his 40th Birthday so no man around to do diy no good asking my sons the one is 25 he has only just learnt how to turn the cooker on lol i am not good with cars so never attempted a car repair , i think i was having one of those days today , i took my sons to Mc Donalds they paid for there meals at the drive thru i drove of without there meals , then there was a alarm going off in the car and it felt really sluggish , i had forgot to take the handbrake off is it being blonde or Mr P , ill blame Mr P
Well to say I am frustrated is an understatement!! I phoned DWP today and was told that they had to get back in touch to Capita to check something with them.
I have been told umpteen times that there were no queries on my claim and now all of a sudden there is!
I was told to phone again tomorrow afternoon to see if it has been resolved. I am losing patience now, How can I be told so many different things when the people I speak to are looking at the same information on the computer in front of them!
Well will let you know what they say tomorrow, But to say I am losing confidence in being accepted is a fair comment.
Mum was taken to Benidorm for a short holiday by my sister to give her a break. Flew out Sunday by Monday she took ill on Tuesday she was admitted to hospital, where she had brilliant treatment by hospital staff,(different from England!) She had bronchitis, a touch of pneumonia, then had a mini heart attack. They kept her in there for 11 days until they deemed her fit to fly back home. Then problems started with her medication (same as your mums) the hospital reports were in Spanish also the list of medicines, I'm sure they will soon sort them out, she also has to have an angiagram.
PS Done that before with the handbrake so your not on your own!
