The MHRA has confirmed that a faulty batch of needles was produced by the manufacturer, Unomedical, in 2012. There is a small chance that the needles from the faulty batch can break, when in use.
Since May 2012, there have been 11 reported cases where needles have broken, after being used to administer apomorphine. The last reported incident was in June 2012. If you think that one of your needles has broken, you should contact your specialist as soon as possible.
