Hello everybody. I was diagnosed 3.5 years ago at the age of 50 (YOPD) and started medication of 1 x Rasagaline and 4 x Sinemet 100 daily.
I’m now taking 2 x Madopar 50 first thing to boost me into the day, then 6 x Stalevo 125 through the day. I suffer off periods lasting anywhere between 15-60 minutes. To me, for 3.5 years, that’s a huge legal in prescribed drugs.
The first 2 years were relatively problem free but now I suffer from painful sciatica (my consultant has referred me for a scan) and as the day progresses I struggle to walk. I know we’re all different but to me something seems wrong with the increase in meds in such a short space off time. Any thoughts / comments?
Hi there, don’t know if this will help.
i was diagnosed 8 years ago (i was 49) and was put on 3 sinemet 25/100 a day, then 3 years ago a 200mg entacopone was added to take with each sinemet. Then a year ago these were in increased to a sinemet and entacopone four times a day (or five if i’m doing something more than normal)
Also
You say you take Stalevo which is just sinemet and entacopone in one tablet, but i tried changing from sinemet 100/25 and entacopone 200 to stalevo 100 which on paper is EXACTLY the same drugs but I can’t tell you how messed up it made me and i was back on the indvidual sinemet and entacopone tablets within 10days!!!
Hope you find a level that’s right for you
