Hi, I have had a few dreams where I have actually jumped out of bed and ended up on the floor with a small arm injury from one dream, and in another I kicked out just like i was in the dream, I inadvertently kicked my poor dog out of bed (He is Fine, no injuries)
Anyone else heard of this? is this a Parkinson’s symptom?
Hello waynesmith … I have Parkinson 's & take Sinemet as well as Amitriptyline, Bisoprolol, Apixaban & Ramipril. All of which can cause nightmares which I have.
Some of my nightmares are violent & I have gone from a light sleeper to someone whose bedclothes are thrown on the floor & my bed sheet in knots.
I have been prescribed Quetiapine to quieten my dreams & help me sleep.
So your dreams are either a symptom of your Parkinson’s or a side effect of the medication you take.
Best wishes

Thanks Steve, that’s the problem, one thing causes one problem then the possible solution creates another problem, then we don’t know who/what to blame.
Although I have been on Sinemet for over a year now and these dreams have only just started, so could be the disease progression.
Please!! Please!! the night dreams you are having could be REM it took seven years , changed GPs 3 times before we found out what it was. My hubby ran into the bedroom wall (just slipped down it like tom and jerry ) dived into a lake saying Paul our son was drowning, kicked me out of bed, thumped me in the face, ripped my nighty off, the odd thing is you can not wake him up when he is like that, also he wakes up then when he goes back to sleep he carries on from where he left off. So just check with your PD nurse and have a look at sites of REM Rapied Eye Movement.
