I started on Madopar on 14th Jan this year and now on 125mg 4 times a day. Before I started taking Madopar, in that period just before I fell a sleep had some nice thoughts and dreams about what I wanted to do. Now instead of the thoughts and dreams I keep getting memories of the past (some good some bad). Is this a side effect of the Madopar or just me?
Hi @Johanmb, thank you for sharing this note on our forum. We understand how changes like this can be unsettling, especially when they show up around sleep and quiet moments.
We have a page about Madopar that you may find useful on this page: Levodopa (co-beneldopa and co-careldopa) | Parkinson's UK
If these thoughts start to feel distressing, it’s worth mentioning them to your Parkinson’s nurse or neurologist, as small adjustments can sometimes help. Keeping a note of when it happens and how it feels can also be useful.
We’re also here to provide a listening ear if you think it’s helpful to talk to us. You can reach us on freephone 0808 800 0303 anytime you need to chat.
Sending our warmest wishes
