Drinking and feeling very odd

On two occasions recently I have had too much to drink and felt very strange.
The first was a big beer festival in a local park. Very hot summers day. I know I drank too much. The second was a party at a friends house where I had a big G&T

On both occasions I walked part way home and felt distinctly odd on the journey and at home. A combination of having too much to drink plus that whole body fatigue which Parkinsons gives me. It is hard to describe, but the closest is feeling both odd and whole bidy fatigue.

Anyone else get symptoms like this?

Yeah, that heavy, wired-yet-exhausted feeling is so hard to shake off once it hits. Heat plus alcohol is already a rough combo, but add PD fatigue on top of that and it’s no wonder your body felt completely wrecked. You’re definitely not alone in this—it’s super frustrating when a casual drink turns into feeling that weird, full-body drag.

It sounds like the combination of alcohol, heat, dehydration, and physical fatigue could make you feel particularly strange afterward. I’d be cautious about assuming it’s only the alcohol, though, especially with Parkinson’s. It may be worth mentioning these episodes to your doctor, particularly if they happen again or come with dizziness, fainting, confusion, or unusual weakness.

Hello @BearNumberOne Don’t drink any alcohol with Parkinson’s medication. Full stop .
Your a fool to yourself if you do … sorry to say that !

Hi @BearNumberOne, thanks for reaching out to the forum. We understand it can be concerning to experience these symptoms when consuming alcohol.

It’s important to note that people can respond to alcohol in different ways, so we do recommend talking to a medical professional about your concerns.
