The. Beano wins. If I dig round about the edge of the couch I might manage to scrape up enough for the Broons.

Hi Recovery

what an encouraging post....how are you doing now?

Howard is very inspirational though getting my father to follow a Qigong routine every day is very frustrating. Clearly your self motivation has got you to such a positive place.

coukd you give any advice for me to help my father & ultimately my outgoing mum who struggles to cope

Hi Nic here for my dad,

Your poor dad.....do him a favour and research Parkinson's, try to understand how it feels.  After 8 months dx,I was very self motivated and on one pill a day (selegiline).

This disease is progressive and it takes from you, it takes your free spirit, your confidence, your ability to move as you used to and it hurts mentally and physically.  If you feel getting your father to follow a daily routine of Qigong is frustrating, I can guarantee it's nowhere near as frustrating as you must be to him.

im still positive and self motivated and determined, but I know my limits and that's frustrating.

best wishes to your dad

ali.

Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey — it’s heartening to hear how you’ve taken an active role in your recovery and found approaches that work for you. Your experience highlights how lifestyle, nutrition, and mind–body practices can play a meaningful role alongside (or even before) conventional treatments.

It’s also encouraging to see increasing research into personalized approaches for Parkinson’s, especially in understanding how metabolism, the gut–brain axis, and cellular pathways interact. AI-driven bioinformatics platforms — like those developed by Ardigen — are helping scientists uncover these complex biological patterns and could, in the future, support more tailored interventions for neurological conditions such as PD.

Wishing you continued strength and balance on your healing path — your optimism is truly motivating for others in the community.
