Dystonia and painful muscle cramps in upper arms

Hi I’m 15 years diagnosed, with DBS working well since op in 2015.

Recently I’ve had some bad Dystonia, particularly in my right arm, which was gets tense and locks up ultimately affecting much of my body, my ability to walk and my balance as I’m trying to compensate for the Dystonia impact.

I wa wondering if there were any suggestions or recommendations for self help intervention or exercises that could help in addition to my meds.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi @col1210

Welcome back to the forum, I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some problems. I would recommend that you contact your Parkinson’s nurse to discuss options, you could also have a look at the information we have on our web site at https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/dystonia-and-muscle-cramps.

I hope that helps
