My father ( 72yrs) has had severe depression for last year. PD diagnoised 4yrs ago. Due to have ECT treatment - has anyone any experience of this ? Would welcome info on benefits / side effects.

ECT has been used for years for severe depression there used to be a lot of controversy about it but probably due to the way it was portrayed in films and the press.
I worked as a psychiatric nurse in the 80's and observed lots of positive results for patients having ECT.
Worth researching but have heard it is still used with good success results.
