Exercise/PD Warrior

Diagnosed last July, probably fairly mild so far. Have done a ‘Movers and Shakers’ session about once a month so far [based on PD Warrior]. Trying to get myself organised to attend more often and also looking for other similar classes. I do some PD Warrior type exercises while watching on-line, about every other morning for last couple of weeks.
I am interested to know what Parkinsons UK and the research community think about PD Warrior. Is any research underway and what are the chances of programmes being started countrywide?
My availabilty is rather compromised by spending my life partly in Peterborough and part in Worcester!

Hi @henry1,

I know that many members on the forum have found the PD Warrior program to be super beneficial and we always encourage people with Parkinson’s to do some form of exercise as it can slow the progression of your symptoms. There’s more information on this here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/exercise.

We believe that you can learn how to improve function, quality of life and long-term exercise behaviour in people with Parkinson’s through the PD Warrior program and we have more info on how you can join the program here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/professionals/events-and-learning/neuroplasticity-parkinsons-pd-warrior.

For any research related questions, please feel free to email our research department at [email protected] and a representative from our research team will get back to you.

If you have further questions about this, you can also give our helpline a call and speak to one of advisers for more info and support on 0808 800 0303 or email us at [email protected].

Best wishes,
Reah
