Experimental Drug STOPS

How do I take part in this trial?

In my experience…if this drug, which sounds like a repurposed/ modified version of an existing drug, really does stop Parkinsons…drug companies will make sure it doesn’t come to the market for years as it will affect their massive profits from existing drugs which patients have to take for years filling the drug companies pockets.
I hope I am wrong.

No, you are probably right. I always say that there will never be a cure for most illnesses due to drugs companies.

Hello all

Regarding this medicine how long do you have to take them and how do the see the changes?

I don’t think any of the detail is known yet…only tested in mice so far and waiting to begin clinical tria on humans.

Hi Mrs_P,

We actually have a news story on this up on the Parkinson’s UK website here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/news/diabetes-type-drug-may-slow-parkinsons .

We don’t yet have details of the trials as yet, but feel free to check out the Research Support Network here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/research/get-involved-research and the Take Part Hub where you can search for research opportunities in your area- https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/research/take-part-research

Hope you find this useful.

Best wishes,
Reah
