So I was diagnosed in May 2025. When I was put on Sinemett in August, shortly afterwards I developed a weird sensation in both feet. The only way to describe it is it’s like my socks are permanently rucked up in my shoes , but the feeling won’t go away, or like walking on cotton wool balls. It isn’t painful, more annoying/ uncomfortable. My gp has tried me on Amitriptyline but that hasn’t worked, except my anxiety issues have subsided. My Parkinson nurse hasn’t come across this either. Not sure if anyone has any ideas please.

Hi there, hope you are doing well. I was interested in your post because problems with feet are rarely mentioned in the forum. I was diagnosed in 2021 so I have had the usual symptoms associated with PD. I too have a weird sensation in both feet but it’s more of a heaviness or numbness that won’t go away. It is so annoying and the only thing that gives me relief is to get out of bed and walk around for a bit. I am not diabetic so the neurologist thinks it is peripheral neuropathy which is common in PD. Or it could be poor circulation. I am trying cayenne pepper capsules so I hope it might give me some relief. Have you tried Gabapentin?
Thanks for your input on my topic. My gp has put me on Amitriptyline which has helped very slightly, but for sure it has helped my anxiety issues a lot, and in that sense I feel much better. I have no issues in bed , however we’ve just come back from 3 weeks in the sun, and I hardly ever noticed my foot problem, which is strange, and the only good thing is it doesn’t affect my daily walk. Thanks again
No worries. Hopefully things will sort themselves out. My feet are really a problem at the moment. And my legs are so uncomfortable in bed. So I am finding sleep elusive. PD symptoms seem to be so varied for everyone. And I find that my anxiety levels go through the roof at times. Anyway nice chatting with you. Take care.
