Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2022 and apart from the occasional tremors in my right hand and leg, I have been coping quite well. However, having got up from the sofa today I found that I couldn’t move my left foot, it felt as if it had been glued to the floor and it did go off after a couple of minutes. Is it possible to have freezing just in one foot but not the other or was it a sign of things worsening?
Good evening Alan3 … I was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinson’s in 2023. I was also diagnosed with neuropathy about 9 months ago following tests. Up to 55% of people with Parkinson’s have neuropathy where you can get numbness in your toes, feet & legs also muscle stiffness. I have gait freezing & my back & legs feel very heavy after a short walk or when I have been sitting down. I take Amitriptyline for my neuropathy & find it excellent.
I do not know whether the symptoms we both have are Parkinson’s or neuropathy or both. If it persists do tell your medical team.
My left foot / leg is more troublesome than my right.
Whatever it is they will try & treat it with medication.
I take Sinemet aka Co-Careldopa.
Any questions please ask.
Best wishes

Last few weeks I have freezing on all days, when you speak and stutter this is how my freezing is, i start walking and it only takes me 15mins to go where i want to., but it used to only take me 4mins before i had freezing,
Hi freezing is a big problem for my hubby he freezes quite a lot now. Physio has helped she told him to take a deep breath and say out loud big step. This could help get him going again by telling the brain what to do. Amazingly it worked he walked on doing big steps using his walker I was in tears I hadn’t seen this for such along time. He’s had to practice & sometimes it doesn’t work but it’s helped.
Jane0804 … You might consider the cue1 device for him.
I think there are a few people on here who have them.

Hi
I have started getting a very lifeless and numb leg and arm. My leg just won’t move even though I am telling it to.
I have stumbled frequently and had people ask me what I’ve been drinking when I am sober.
It’s making me really low and upset as I was always such an active person and now at the age of 48 I can see a very rubbish future ahead of me.
Note - I also have a history of ptsd so mental health battles are frequent to me
Hi coop Well not sure what to say (48 years old) I had allready retired when I found out that I had PD, but don’i loose heart ask about DBS The cut off is when you reach 70 Quite a lot of my friends have had DBS and it realy helped them. One of my friends used to play tennis, he did not think he would ever play again, but this year he was back on at the tennis court, Never Give Up just post how you are as we on this site help each other,
