Frightened may have Parkinson’s

Hi I hope I don’t upset anyone or seem to be over reacting but I’m quite frightened atm. For over 2 yrs have have been experiencing tremors interminably in my hands when putting make up to the point I can’t put mascara or eyeliner on without holding my arm to try to keep it still or reaching for a cup or glass and really shake. Also I have been ‘acting’ out my dreams where I have been shouting out or hitting and kicking out whilst dreaming I’m doing it. This has now escalated to actualling diving out of bed whilst dreaming I’m diving across the floor in a dream and waking straight up and remembering all the dream - as well as having a massive limp on head from banging on bedside table and hurt shoulder from landing on the floor! Husband is woken up shocked with all of this happening and I have an appointment with gp but looking online it points to possible neireogocal possible Parkinson’s disease - has anyone else had this as early symptoms? Thanks in advance:pleading_face:

@june.burton266 Looking online can only make you more frightened so try to limit what you search for and be careful of sites that only fearmonger. What you have said could point to Parkinson’s or it could point to something else so until you get the answer from the doctors try not to fear the worse. I know its hard not to fear the worse I’ve been there myself when I first start on the roller-coaster that is PD but try not to. Spend some time on this site reading the posts and checking out the info posted. If you want to you talk to someone call the Parkinson’s helpline and talk to the very nice people on there 0808 800 0303 They will help you

Hi @june.burton266, welcome to our forum, and thank you for your post.

You’re not overreacting, and it’s good that you’ve already arranged a GP appointment.

We have a list of pages on our website that relate to sleep that you may wish to check out - you can find them here.

Given the falls from bed and injuries, it would be sensible to mention those clearly to your GP, as sleep safety may need addressing sooner rather than later.

Please let us know if there’s any way we can help. We’re here for you, and always available for you to chat to us on 0808 800 0303.

Sending our warmest wishes

The Parkinson’s UK Moderation Team :blue_heart:
