There is a type of Parkies caused by a genetic mutation called GBA Parkinsons. About 1 in 20 Parkies are GBA. This causes Lewy bodies in brain cells and they die off causing Parkies.
There is a clinical trial recruiting to test the efficacy of a new drug just for GBA Parkies. They are still looking fo people. One of the centres is UCL hospital in London, and the trial is called MOVES-PD and drug is GZ/SAR402671, if anyone is interested then email
